Pastor J.D. Brown

Pastor JD Brown was born in Midnight, Mississippi to Fannie B Weather and Willie Brown on February 5, 1945. Pastor Brown moved to Belle Glade, FL in the 60’s. In 1963, Pastor Brown joined the Greater St Paul Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Brown. While serving in the church in many capacities, Pastor JD Brown was blessed to meet Mary Ruth Hammond and took her as his wife. Together they had 10 children. During this time, Pastor JD Brown was ordained by Pastor Clarence Brown.

Pastor Brown worked in the construction industry, mastering the art of stucco and plastering. In the 80’s Pastor JD Brown opened the Bibleway Church of God in Christ #2 where he pastored for over 40 years.

Pastor Brown is survived by his wife Sophia Donaldson Brown along with his siblings: Earnestine Walker, Brother-in-law Bishop Raymond Sellers, Charles Sumner and his children: Tangelina Irish (Ulric), Cynthia Brooks (Pastor Curtis Brooks- deceased), Aaron Brown (Dina), Arick Brown (Delores), Demetrius Brown, Patrika Hinds (Leslie), Chondra Brown (James Tucker) along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie and Willie Brown, Siblings: James Brown, Roosevelt Weeks, Pecolar Pruitt, Melinda Sumner, Sharon Weeks, Bobbie Jean Weeks and Lena Mae Sellars, His Children:Terrance Brown, James Brown, and Darold Wayne Brown.

Pastor JD Brown was escorted from his earthly home to his heavenly home in GLORY on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024. Fond and loving memories of Pastor JD Brown will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
